The Coaches

Every coach here has lived what we teach.

We know what it's like to be a player. We built GetRight from experience sitting on the bench, losing confidence, and rebuilding that confidence on our own terms. That is what makes us different.

Founder · Mindset · Leadership · Communication

Tino is the founder of GetRight. He graduated from the University of San Diego in 2026 with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, and a minor in Creative Writing. Using his skills, knowledge, and connections, he sought to create a basketball business that transcended basketball itself to provide better support systems for players.

From San Francisco, California, he attended Archbishop Riordan High School and made it to Junior Varsity his sophomore year. Due to COVID and lack of opportunities, he stepped away from basketball his junior year, and focused on other interests like becoming an editor for the school newspaper and becoming a student leader. In college, he played a season on the University of San Diego's Men's Club Basketball Team where he learned more about the game of basketball by making new connections, and meeting new coaches.

In high school, Tino faced new challenges he hadn't experienced before. He stopped getting playing time, had a hard time communicating with his coaches, and found difficulty in believing in his own abilities. It wasn't until college that he accepted this reality. Prior to that, he blamed bad coaching and a bad basketball system at his high school that prevented him from playing. While the development wasn't necessarily the best, he realized that he had his own power. He controlled a lot of the things he didn't perform at. And, it wasn't because he was bad at it, it's because he didn't believe in himself.

Using his education, Tino wanted to keep basketball in his life while still pursuing a career in marketing. The best solution he came up with was pairing the two together into the form of a business, GetRight. He has a vision of creating holistic athletes who do not just specialize in one particular area, but rather have the full package. He understands that mentality sharpens performance, and recovery optimizes longevity. GetRight transcends the basketball community because it is more than just basketball; it's about creating healthy, fulfilled human beings. Tino is currently the head coach of the Bay City 4th Grade Red Team, where he continues to develop young athletes and put his GetRight philosophy into practice.

Giancarlo "GC" Toledo-Rivera
Elite Shooting · Professional Perspective

Tino met Giancarlo in first grade, and have been good friends ever since. They played basketball together–from middle school hoops to AAU basketball. Giancarlo started playing basketball seriously in 6th grade, and picked it up immediately. He fell in love with it. He became obsessed and rose to the top pretty quickly. He was the tallest in our middle school class, so the game came easy to him.

GC found a new challenge when he attended high school at St. Ignatius College Preparatory. He met it head on and made varsity by the end of his freshman year, heading into sophomore year as a full-time varsity player. He's always been known as the team's best shooter–no matter what team he is on. After a fabulous high school career, GC was hit with reality. He went to different schools–Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, San Francisco State University, and UC Santa Cruz–to pursue an opportunity at high level basketball. Politics and coach bias got in his way. He recalls sitting on the bench until garbage time in the fourth quarter. One time, at UC Santa Cruz, he was put in the game with under three minutes left to which he scored nine points in under a minute. Coach GC was definitely recognized after that.

After a couple years of waiting for an opportunity and persistent training, Giancarlo was offered a spot on a professional basketball team in El Salvador in 2025. Once he secured his spot, Giancarlo took full advantage of his opportunity, becoming a consistent scorer/shooter and getting a starting position. He is currently still playing, and that is a testament to what hard work, dedication, and attention to detail can really get you. He is a perfect embodiment of what GetRight athletes should be. Off the court, GC has also returned to San Francisco State University, where he is finishing his bachelor's degree in Environmental Science — a subject that means a great deal to him personally. He also coaches for SF Champions, where he helps train and develop young athletes from their program.

Tyler Reyes
Strength & Conditioning · Nutrition · Recovery

Tino met Tyler in Kindergarten and have been close friends since. They played together throughout their whole life up until high school, whether on the same school team or AAU team. Tyler had a very unique basketball experience. In high school, he was asked to play a very specific role which made him quite uncomfortable. Not that being uncomfortable is the issue, but the guidance and leadership he received in the midst of his circumstance did not help him adjust. His confidence was challenged, and he eventually stopped playing basketball after sophomore year to focus on other interests, like weight lifting and personal training.

As a graduate from California State University Fullerton in 2026 with a Bachelor in Criminal Justice, Tyler is a highly educated individual who is constantly motivated by new challenges. Back in middle school, Tyler was out of shape and overweight. Wanting to change his lifestyle, he implemented a program that would change how he approached his diet and fitness for the rest of his life. By eighth grade, Tyler looked unrecognizable.

In high school, he took an online course that granted him a certificate to become a personal trainer — a credential he has since formalized through the NASM certification program. He has furthered his studies throughout college and partaken in different forms of training to test its effects. He has bulked up to over 200 lbs, and he has leaned down to under 200 lbs. Him and GC actually both share their knowledge with each other on how to better improve GC's athletic ability to play pro. Other peers of Tyler's have also reached out to him for training and nutritional advice, only strengthening his credibility and reliability.

Tino has also trusted Coach Tyler's training as he has sought advice from him on weight loss, increased athletic performance, and overall health. He has great knowledge on nutritional benefits from certain foods, and has created well-balanced plans for himself and others that end in satisfactory results. His dedication, strategic mindset, and encouraging attitude is exactly the kind of coach that will help GetRight athletes.
