A Staff Connected Through Hardship

A staff connected through hardship.

Every coach on this staff lost something before they found it again. We have lost confidence, playing time, a coach's trust, and more. We've sat the bench, been miscommunicated with, and had to rebuild belief in ourselves the hard way. That shared experience shapes how we coach now: direct, honest, and demanding, but never at the expense of an athlete's confidence or esteem. We won't sugarcoat what needs work, but we won't tear an athlete down to get there. After all, we are all human.

Each coach leads from where they're strongest. Tyler and GC head Physical Training, building athletes on real science to enhance strength, conditioning, and recovery designed for longevity and injury prevention. Tino and Tyler lead Mental Health and Mindfulness, helping athletes name the pressure they feel and turn fear into belief. Brendan and GC anchor Basketball IQ, teaching the reads and habits that separate a player who scores from a player who wins. And everyone leads in Life Skills as the daily standard every session is upheld by: being coachable, sportsmanship, and a next-play mentality.

Every coach here has lived the exact struggles GetRight was built to solve. We have all experienced some form of losing confidence, not being heard by a coach, or being counted out. We know how it feels, which is why we know how to help an athlete through it.

Coach Profiles

Coach 01
Santino "Tino" Woo
Mindset • Leadership • Communication

Tino founded GetRight after years of quietly battling the fear of failure, a mental barrier that started at a basketball camp in 5th grade and cost him his confidence in every sport he played after. It was an uphill battle with a mix of highs and lows. He made it to Junior Varsity by his sophomore year at Archbishop Riordan High School, but COVID and a lack of opportunity led him to step away from basketball his junior and senior year. It wasn't until college that he understood the problem was never his coaches, but that he'd never learned to believe in himself. He found his love for the game again by playing for himself rather than trying to prove his worth to someone else. GetRight is built on the foundation that no athlete has to figure that out alone.

Specialties: mindset, leadership, communication
Coach 02
Giancarlo "GC" Toledo-Rivera
Elite Shooting • Professional Perspective

GC fought his way through years of bench time in college before earning a professional roster spot in El Salvador in 2025, proving that persistence and preparation can do what talent alone can't. After sitting the bench for most of his time at UC Santa Cruz, GC was given the final three minutes of a blowout loss to get some playing time, and made the most of it by scoring nine points in a single minute. Having known the other coaches since middle school as one of the best shooters around, he brings both elite shooting mechanics and a professional athlete's understanding of what it actually takes to earn your minutes. He is a living example of what GetRight looks to build in young athletes.

Specialties: elite shooting, professional perspective, perseverance
Coach 03
Brendan Passanissi
Footwork • Spacing • IQ

At 6'7", Brendan was the player opposing coaches built entire game plans around. He won MVP his freshman year at Archbishop Riordan High School, and played a crucial part on the team that beat Bay Area rival Archbishop Mitty for the CCS Open Division Championship. His game is built on footwork, spacing, and reading the defender, not just overwhelming his opponent with size. He is the modern wing: a tall, lengthy player who can defend, shoot the ball, and score off the dribble. After retiring from competitive basketball, playing two years at Foothill and Santa Rosa Junior College, he still shows his passion for the game by breaking down film, training at a high level, and always trying to get better himself.

Specialties: crisp footwork, IQ, detail-oriented
Coach 04
Tyler Reyes
Strength & Conditioning • Nutrition • Recovery

Tyler transformed his own body and habits starting in middle school, eventually becoming a certified personal trainer while still in high school. He's built training and nutrition plans that have helped teammates, peers, and even fellow coaches reach new levels of performance. Studying the game, Tyler always looked for new tactics, practices, and techniques he could bring to the court. He loves to push his limits at a reasonable pace, ensuring stability and growth while challenging himself. Having played through a coach who never set him up to succeed at an unfamiliar position, Tyler coaches with the patience, clarity, and attention to detail he wishes he'd had.

Specialties: strength & conditioning, nutrition, recovery
