Pillar 02 of 4

Confidence Isn't Talent. It's a Skill We Teach.

Real tools to embrace pressure, communicate honestly, and rebuild self-belief, taught by coaches who lost their own confidence once and had to find their way back.

01 / Why This Pillar Exists

A pattern every coach on this staff has lived through.

Every coach on this staff has faced this same pressure, in college, in high school, or as early as middle school: trying to become a better player while also trying to navigate a coach who may or may not believe in you. That pressure builds up quietly, and most players are never taught how to carry it.

Confidence in a young athlete is built two ways. Part of it comes from a coach who shows real belief in you, and it's genuinely hard to be without when that belief isn't there. But the other part is something every athlete can control on their own: how well you can actually play comes down to how hard you train, and that kind of confidence doesn't depend on anyone else's opinion.

This pillar exists to teach both sides of that equation: how to communicate honestly with a coach so belief has a chance to grow, and how to build the kind of preparation that gives an athlete confidence no one can take away.

Naming the Pressure

Helping athletes put words to what they're feeling instead of burying it, before it becomes a wall.

Honest Communication

Practicing how to talk to coaches, teammates, and parents honestly, even when it's uncomfortable.

Turning Fear Into Belief

Reps that rebuild self-confidence deliberately, the same way footwork or shooting form gets rebuilt.

Mindset • Leadership • Communication

Founded GetRight after years of quietly battling the fear of failure. Understood only in college that no coach ever taught him to believe in himself, he had to find it playing for himself.

Tyler Reyes
Mental Health • Mindfulness

Turned his own frustration into obsessive self-education, then helped everyone around him do the same.

"Mental health isn't just an athlete thing. What you do doesn't have to define who you are. This is an everyone thing."
