Pillar 03 of 4

The Game Beyond Repetitive Drills.

Defense, decision-making, and the small details that separate a player who scores from a player who wins, taught by coaches who broke down film long after their own playing days ended.

01 / Why This Pillar Exists

Talent without reads only gets you so far.

At 6'7", Brendan was the player opposing coaches built entire game plans around. He won MVP his freshman year at Archbishop Riordan High School and played a crucial part on the team that beat Bay Area rival Archbishop Mitty for the CCS Open Division Championship. His game is built on footwork, spacing, and reading the defender, not just overwhelming his opponent with size. After retiring from competitive basketball, he still shows his passion for the game by breaking down film, training at a high level, and always trying to get better himself.

GC has known the other coaches since middle school as one of the best shooters around. He brings elite shooting mechanics and a professional athlete's understanding of what it actually takes to earn your minutes, not just talent, but the reads and habits that separate a player who scores from a player who wins.

This pillar exists because IQ is coachable. It's built through film, footwork, and reps, the same as any physical skill.

Film Study

Breaking down footage the way Brendan does for himself, dissecting footwork, spacing, and decisions possession by possession.

Defense & Decision-Making
